Join us and get involved

With us, you can become a volunteer and get involved in many different fields.

Join Us!

Most of what we offer at diversity is organised by young queer people on a voluntary basis – the board, the speakers for certain topics such as technology, the youth leaders of our youth groups, the bar team and speakers for our diversity@school educational project all work on a voluntary basis. Only a few activities and areas are carried out by paid staff: only our social workers (part-time), our administrative staff (mini-jobs/working students or full-time part-time) and our café coordinators (mini-jobs/working students) are employed by us and make the voluntary work possible to a large extent.

Our youth work is depending on you!

It is only thanks to our many volunteers that diversity can offer such a broad and varied programme for young lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, inter*, non-binary, asexual/aromantic and HIV-positive teenagers and young adults.

Your benefits of getting involved

Your commitment to diversity not only benefits others – it benefits you too! You will become part of a lively queer community in which appreciation, cohesion and empowerment are practised. With us, you will gain experience in youth work, have the opportunity to try things out and be given real responsibility. Whether it's a JuLeiCa, training on awareness, queer life realities or skills for educational work and events – we support you with further training, exchange formats and supervision. You will also get to know great people, develop yourself and make a difference in the lives of others.

Queer to Queer

The age limit for volunteers, like that for visitors, is 27. In line with the peer-to-peer approach, the aim is to ensure that the age difference between volunteers and visitors is not too great.

Join the team!

All of our groups are happy to welcome new volunteers. It's best to find out more directly on groups' websites and to contact the group or type of offer via their contact form. In any case, you can use the contact form below and we'll forward your request to the right person or group!

Whether you like organising parties, working behind the bar, educating children and teenagers about sexual orientation and gender identity, keeping our technical infrastructure up and running or you would like to be a youth leader in one of our leisure groups – we look forward to meeting you and welcoming you as part of our team!
