diversity München e.V. is with about 1600 members and, additionally, 200 supporting members Munich's only queer youth organization.
We have up to five board members, a team of about 100 volunteers under the age of 27, three social workers (part-time), and some administrative staff (part-time/minijob or working student). As a youth organization, we run a youth center at Blumenstraße 11 and a youth café – the diversity Café – at Blumenstraße 29. With our youth groups, we offer a wide range of low-threshold leisure activities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, non-binary, asexual/aromantic, and HIV-positive teenagers and young adults up to the age of 27. In addition, through educational work, counseling, and political advocacy, we contribute to social diversity and fight against discrimination and for the acceptance of different sexual orientations and gender identities.
We are funded by the City of Munich (Social Welfare Department), the Kreisjugendring München Stadt (Munich City Youth Council), the Bayerischer Jugendring (Bavarian Youth Council), and through donations and contributions from our supporting members.
diversity München e.V. is a member of the Kreisjugendring München Stadt, the Bayerischer Jugendring, and a recognized provider of independent youth welfare services. We are a founding member of Queere Bildung e.V. and the Bundesverband Trans* (BVT*). Since 2021, diversity München e.V. has been one of the five shareholder associations of CSD München GmbH. We are represented at the Queer Networking Meeting of queer community organizations, associations, and initiatives, at the Round Table on LGBTIQ* Equality of the City of Munich, and on the advisory boards of the Regenbogenstiftung and the Patrick Lindner Stiftung.
We were involved in the development of the quality label “Open to ALL” and take turns with other LGBTIAQ* institutions to conduct facility visits.
